Bill Belichick Allegedly Canceled Patriots Practice Next Week

The New England Patriots had their voluntary OTAs and also took part in mandatory minicamp. Players worked really hard and head coach Bill Belichick decided to reward Patriots by canceling practice. A great reward for hard-working folks, right? The Patriots have no days off and it’s all part of the Patriot Way. However, Belichick makes exceptions when things flow without any trouble.

Players were set to have their third and final practice of mandatory minicamp on Thursday morning, but their head coach called an audible. The weather did everyone a favor. Experts predicted heavy rain and thunderstorms in the Foxborough area, so Belichick decided to rest and get ready for the next stage of the offseason.

Patriots minicamp is over and the mandatory portion of the offseason workout program was brought to an end. New England planned to OTAs next week and the final two sessions will take place on Monday and Tuesday. We didn’t know if Belichick plans to cancel these two practices.

This has become a tradition. Belichick and his team has canceled the final week of OTAs in each and every season so far. They’d rather focus on team-building activities outside the field. Regardless of the plan, attendance is voluntary.

Belichick has yet to confirm these activities, but we have a feeling that the Patriots won’t do any hard work.

Patriots players should get the best of their summer break. They will return to the facility in late July. Plenty of time to rest and get ready for the challenging season.
