Former Patriots RB Shares How Tom Brady Hazed Rookie Players

The New England Patriots won six championships with Tom Brady as their leading quarterback. He led the team to nine Super Bowl appearances and earned an army of fans. A lot of players looked up to him. He is the greatest quarterback of all time, remember? Patriots players were equally impressed. They watched the legend do his thing.

Patriots rookies were the best. They all have memories and some of them were not so hilarious. Brady had this special relationship with young Patriots players. Garrett Wilson knows it best.

Wilson appeared on “The Pivot Podcast” and Fred Taylor mentioned Brady. Ryan Clark and Channing Crowder joined the discussion and yes, it was mind-blowing. Ever heard of “rookie dinners”? No? Well, veterans get to order whatever they want and rookies pay for it.

Patriots rookies learned a lot from Tom Brady

Taylor spent two years with the Patriots and had a clear insight into the situation.

“When I was in New England, the entire team went out on the rookies, Taylor said. “All I know is that bill comes back like 50, 60 thousand because Tom would come in there and buy a three, four, five thousand dollar bottle of wine, take one sip, quit it, and say goodnight.”

Well, Brady doesn’t drink much. He doesn’t drink at all. Ordering fancy wine is just part of the game. It looks and tastes good. That’s all. He is more into healthy eating and avocado ice cream. The Brady family has a private chef who prepares great meals. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback hates tomatoes, so they don’t really have a tomato sauce.

Brady eats the food he likes and has a special workout program. Making his muscles pliable is of utmost importance. No weights, no nothing.

Rookies may pay for those expensive dinners, but they sure get to learn a lot from Brady. Plus, they earn a lot when the team wins a playoff game or earn a ring in the Super Bowl. We all have a price to pay. Patriots rookies got their part of the bill.
