Lakers Drop Final Decision on Anthony Davis Future

The Los Angeles Lakers pulled out a big trade deal for Anthony Davis and they wanted to keep him on the roster in the future for a reason. Davis’ future was hanging in the air at one point of the regular season. Well, that’s what some doubters said. The Lakers didn’t even mention anything about trading the big man somewhere else.

According to Zach Lowe from ESPN, the Lakers big man is not going anywhere. On the June 22 episode of “The Lowe Podcast,” Lowe said that AD will join LeBron James and other Lakers plaeyrs in the upcoming season.

“I’ve been told in no uncertain terms Anthony Davis is not getting traded,” Lowe said. “So let’s get that out of the way.”

In December 2020, AD signed a five-year deal worth $190 million. Davis’ tenure with the Lakers was plagued with injuries. He missed a lot of games in the regular season and the Lakers lost too many games. The team didn’t make the playoffs in 2021-22. Will they go through the same disappointment once again?

Lakers to handle other questions after securing Anthony Davis and his future

Russell Westbrook is another issue. Pelinka has yet to find a good trade partner. NBA teams haven’t really shown interest in the All-Star. The Lakers have been linked to Kyrie Irving, leaving little to no room for speculation at the moment. Irving is in a serious position with the Nets. We all know what that means.

“LeBron and Anthony Davis believe they can be the foundation of a contender when they’re both fully healthy,” Scotto said on his podcast. “I know that’s a bit of an asterisk with Davis in particular. LeBron has missed some time over the past few years, but generally speaking, he’s pretty healthy. Some people wondered if the Lakers would consider dangling Davis. I personally don’t see that. People have to write stuff. I see the two of them remaining in unison together. Ultimately, Davis went to Klutch Sports to facilitate the trade to get to the Lakers in the first place. He and LeBron have a good relationship.”
