Lakers Interested in Trading for $94 Million Shooter

The Los Angeles Lakers have to make some big changes in the offseason. Rob Pelinka has a few valuable players on his roster, but he has to surround these players with strong weapons. According to several analysts, the Lakers may be interested in trading for a multi-million shooter.

Matt Moore of the Action Network reported that the Lakers see Buddy Hield as a player of interest. The franchise almost got Hiled from the Sacramento Kings last year. Pelinka didn’t make a move and got Russell Westbrook. They traded three players to get Westbrook.

The Indiana Pacers have Hield on their roster. He inked his four-year deal worth $94 million dollar with the Kings. The team traded him to the Pacers in February.

Lakers to be trading for one of the best shooters

Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report discussed Hield’s performance and his potential role in Los Angeles.

“Could the Los Angeles Lakers aim higher than Buddy Hield this summer? Sure, but only if they dangled Anthony Davis. Perhaps his injury issues could push them in that direction, but they won’t find a better player in return than a healthy Davis, who’s been a top-five NBA talent,” Buckley wrote. “If L.A. instead plans a summer blockbuster around Russell Westbrook and draft picks, then it needs to find players who better complement LeBron James. A net-shredder such as Buddy Hield would be perfect.

“Historically, James has done his best work when surrounded by a swarm of shooters, which makes it all the more head-scratching why this front office hasn’t acquired more of them. Hield could help correct that imbalance in a hurry. Since 2018-19, he’s been good for 3.6 threes per night on 39.4 percent shooting.”

Pelinka can use Hield’s shooting skills. The veteran is one of the best shooters in league history. Keep in mind that Hield never shot below 36.0% from beyond the arc. He averages 15.9 points and 4.3 rebounds in 468 games in his season. Let’s see if the Lakers manage to get Hield this time. They have a chance to snatch him. A good option for a strong team.
