NFL Scout Says This 2022 Draft Pick Was ‘A Steal’ For Patriots

Head coach Bill Belichick made a lot of interesting choices in the 2022 NFL Draft and the New England Patriots were able to fill some gaps on their roster. Cole Strange was the first choice for the team, but he may not be the best steal for the team.

Belichick got players who can lead the team to a win and Jack Jones is definitely one of them. New England used the 121st overall to get Jones in the fourth round of the NFL Draft. According to TJ McCreight, the young cornerback could make all the difference in the upcoming season. New England needed cornerbacks and Jones is the perfect fit for the team. McCreight praised his instinct and impeccable skills. The young cornerback will probably step in as a slot corner in New England.

“Outstanding instincts and eyes,” McCreight said of Jones on the “Ross Tucker Football Podcast,” as transcribed by ESPN. “A tremendous feel for routes, and outstanding ball skills and hands.

“He has the physical ability. He’s big enough (5-foot-10 6/8). He’s fast enough. You see him do some little things. He’s blocked punts in high school. Jones’ blocked kicks in his career.

“He has ball production; he can catch. He had a pick-six (vs. Arizona), heaved the ball into the stands. He’s got some moxie. … To me, that was a steal because he’s going to get coached well in New England now. And you have a guy who is a playmaker.”

A different approach in 2022, Patriots to win games

The Patriots may not use Jones right away, but he sure has a bright future in the NFL. He will make an impact and Belichick will get the best of it. Jones is just 24 and has yet to enter his prime. Imagine his dominance in a few years. A real game-changer!

Jones will establish a good relationship with his teammates and find his way on the top. He will get a good role with the team in the near future. If Belichick decides to use him in 2022, the young cornerback will sure make an impact.
