The New England Patriots faced serious backlash after illuminating Gillette Stadium with the pride flag. Rainbow colors caught everyone’s attention on Wednesday. The Patriots celebrated Pride Month 2022 with a huge flag set up at their stadium, but fans were a bit disappointed. Some fans couldn’t even cope with this.

The Patriots became aware of each and every comment fans sent in their direction. Robert Kraft and his squad decided to remind everyone that the Patriots will never ever tolerate hate speech. There were fans saying they’re done with the team and at least one user accused the team of being against freedom of speech. There were also people suggesting that the team should stick to football and avoid messing around. “When do you kick off straight month?” one user asked. Yes, there were some nasty reactions and the team decided to offer an explanation. And a warning.

Patriots avoid controversy surrounding pride flag

This may not be the most ideal situation, but the Patriots won’t even pay attention to it. The team is super busy preparing for the upcoming season and there’s no room for hate or outside criticism. Patriots had voluntary practices this week and players will return to the field again for mandatory minicamp practices. Players will proceed with OTA practices and the last one is scheduled June 17. The Patriots nation will get a much-deserved break before the start of training camp in July. Yes, it’s a packed schedule, but the Patriots are used to this.
