Patriots Legend Would to Return to New England

The New England Patriots lost a legend last year, but the superstar may soon return to the football field. Hopefully. Head coach Bill Belichick traded for DeVante Parker in the offseason and he is expected to add a nice depth to the receiving unit. Imagine adding Julian Edelman to the fold.

The former Patriots wideout called it career. Edelman said he’d retire once his wheels come off. He sustained too many injuries and even underwent a surgery. Edelman enjoys his time off, but he is definitely looking forward to his return to New England.

Patriots legend to return to a solid WR unit

Edelman would be an excellent addition to the Patriots receiving unit. He will join Kendrick Bourne, Jakobi Meyers, Hunter Henry, Parker, and even Tyquan Thornton. Belichick may not give him the leading role in 2022, but he’d definitely have a key role on the team.

Edelman is one of the better wide receivers in the NFL. He won the Super Bowl MVPV in 2018 and the Patriots won a lot of games with his help. He finished his long NFL career with 620 receptions for 6,822 yards, hitting the end zone 36 times. Yes, Edelman earned his spot in the Hall of Fame. Having him back on the field would be a big deal for the team.

The former wideout talked about his potential return and much more during his appearance at the Sunset Sports Media Festival in Zadar, Croatia.

“I don’t know, we’ll see,” Edelman said via WEEI. “That’s called a little teaser. We’ll see. We’re staying in shape but you never know.”

If Edelman returns to the NFL, he will put on a Patriots jersey again. Many thought that Edelman would follow Rob Gronkowski and come out of his retirement to join Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Some said that Edelman would ink with the Buccaneers in 2020. He didn’t. He is a Patriot for life.

“…I’d probably go back to the Patriots. I love the Patriots. Foxborough Forever,” he said.

Patriots fans started plotting the next stage. Let’s see if Edelman sticks with his idea.
