Patriots Officially Reach Agreement With 1st-Rounder

The New England Patriots made a move and reached an agreement with first-round pick Cole Strange. Head coach Bill Belichick signed a few other draft picks and fans started asking questions about Strange. Well, Belichick didn’t sign Mac Jones right away either.

Belichick went out of his way to select an offensive lineman in the 2022 NFL Draft. He had huge holes at receiver and corner. The Patriots were linked to several prospects and most of them play receiver or cornerback. Belichick had other plans and got Strange with his 29^th overall pick. He knew that other teams will snatch Strange right after the Patriots made a pick. Strange wouldn’t be available in the second round. He was too good and Belichick gave him a chance to make an impact on the field.

Patriots reached agreement with Strange after great first impression

Strange showed great performance in OTAs. Patriots coaches had great praise for his work. The first-rounder has finally inked his deal with the Patriots. Tyquan Thornton and Bailey Zappe got their deals. Pretty much every rookie signed a deal with the Patriots.

The newly-signed Patriots rookie measures 6’5, 305 pounds. In 2021, Strange started all 11 games. In fact, he had a starting role on the offense in five straight years. Strange is relatively young and Patriots assistants will help him get the best of his game. He has yet to unleash his full potential.

Patriots fans and analysts have high expectations from Strange. He is incredibly flexible and Belichick won’t think twice before using him as a starter. Will he see tons of snaps in 2022? Absolutely.

New England is entering an important season. Mac Jones and his new teammates will have to work on their bond. The Patriots have a bunch of great players on the roster this time. Hopefully, these guys will create a strong bond and beat their rivals.

The Patriots have a tough schedule in 2022. They won’t play against Tom Brady though. The Buffalo Bills are still here, waiting for the new-look Patriots team. Will Strange make an impact as expected?
