Patriots Sign 300-Pound Lineman and Former Chief

The New England Patriots won’t stop making changes and now they decided to sign a former Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Darryl Williams. The 300-pounder earned a one-year deal with the Patriots.

Williams joined the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent. They released him a few days ago and Bill Belichick didn’t want to waste the opportunity. Williams had a great career at Mississippi State and Belichick had to get him. A one-year deal may not mean a thing, but Williams has a chance to make an impact on the field.

Here’s the catch. New England has a packed offense and Williams will probably end up on the practice unit. He may not join the team in Week 1 of the regular season, but he can definitely step in as a replacement for injured players later. New England made a lot of elevations last season. There was a COVID outbreak and injuries plagued many players.

Patriots sign offensive lineman, make a few other moves

This is a great addition to the team and we have a few good reasons to believe that Belichick will make a few more moves. He doesn’t have too much money to work with this year, but he can definitely pull out a few interesting moves.

The offense is packed and the Patriots have already added strong passing options for Mac Jones. Jakobi Meyers earned his extension with the team. He will have a key role again, helping Jones neutralize players on the opposing team.

Former New Orleans Saints wideout Lil’Jordan Humphrey joined the Patriots. His experience will make him a top option for Belichick. He may be a new player in New England, but he won’t have trouble fitting in the system.

New England has 10 wideouts at the moment. They traded for DeVante Parker early in the offseason and he will take the top position on the receiving unit. Belichick selected Tyquan Thornton in the 2022 NFL Draft and he has shown great potential in training camp. Nelson Agholor didn’t make an impact in 2021, but he was great in organized team activities. He is off to a great season and fans have high expectations from his game.
