Patriots sign the rookie to fill a big hole on the roster

Jones spent 2018 at a junior college. He started off his college career at USC. During his time with the Sun Devils, Jones became one of the best cornerbacks. In his four seasons of PAC-12 football, the newly-signed Patriots cornerback delivered 10 interceptions. NFL coaches praised his versatility and competitiveness. Belichick noticed these qualities and Jones earned his spot on the Patriots roster.

The NFL predicted a great career for Jones. He had a decent freshman season and his sophomore year was brilliant. Jones was able to lead the team with four interceptions. Unfortunately, the cornerback was dismissed from the team for academic ineligibility. Jones put a black dot on his own career. He was arrested and convicted of a misdemeanor burglary charge.
