Rare Rookie Card Of Patriots Quarterback Mac Jones Found, Sold For Good Money

Getting a rookie card of Mac Jones is a big deal if you take into consideration the fact that the New England Patriots quarterback is on a good way to build a great career in the NFL. The Patriots trusted Jones last season and gave him the starting job. Jones led the team to a seven-game winning streak. He did better than Cam Newton in training camp and the result is here.

Jones is part of the NFL for just a year and he has already earned an army of supporters. An Ohio teenager is definitely one of them.

Johnny Stone, 13, placed his hands on a rare Black Finite rookie card in a box of Panini Prizm Football cards. Imagine the excitement! Stone couldn’t believe his eyes. He will always remember the day he got Jones’ rookie card.

“As soon as I pulled it, I couldn’t breathe,” Stone told the Akron Beacon Journal last week. “It is the only one of it’s kind. I couldn’t believe it.”

The rookie card of Mac Jones caught everyone’s attention

Johnny and his dad, Chad, have been collecting cards for a really long time. Chad knew that this card was special for so many reasons. You don’t get to pull a card like this that often.

“It is literally a one in a million chance that Johnny opened that card in the first box on opening day for the series,” Chad said. “It is the best card you can possibly get from the whole product. He won the lottery.”

As you may be guessing, passionate collectors tried to get the card for nice cash. Chad decided to sell the card to a private collector from Michigan. The card-collecting duo earned $100,000. According to the Akron Beacon Journal, the collector sold the card for $175,000. Where is it now?

We have a few good reasons to believe that this card will be worth a lot more in the next few years.

Jones is entering an important season with the Patriots. He has to improve his performance and beat the Buffalo Bills.
