Report: Jakobi Meyers Inks His Tender

The New England Patriots don’t let their good players go that easily. Jakobi Meyers is one of them and he has just signed his tender with the team.

Meyers showed the world that he wants to get a good deal with the team. The Patriots offered him a one-year deal as reported by Adam Schefter.

According to this report, Meyers will get a one-year deal worth $3.986 million. New England made this offer in March. Meyers entered free agency and the Patriots wanted to keep him around.

The talented player had a chance to ink a deal with another team. Well, Bill Belichick would have matched this offer. If he hadn’t, the team would have to send the Patriots a second-rounder.

Meyers joined the Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2019. He became a key player on the Patriots roster. Belichick gave him a big role on the offense and Meyers returned the favor with 83 catches and 866 yards.

New England can still give Meyers his thick deal. He has a chance to get a multi-year deal. If the veteran doesn’t get a big deal with the team, he will become an unrestricted free agent in 2023. This move won’t be good for the Patriots, because Meyers will be free to sign with any other team in the league.
