Steve Belichick Shares Patriots’ Mantra With The Playoffs

The New England Patriots developed into the strongest team in the NFL. Head coach Bill Belichick built a dynasty. He and Tom Brady made nine Super Bowl appearances and won six championships. What keeps the Patriots going strong for so many years? Steve Belichick discussed the Patriots’ mantra regarding the playoffs.

Coach B is a man of a few words. He doesn’t reveal too much about his gameplan. Players follow the same pattern. They don’t pay too much attention to outside noise and rumors. Winning games is a priority and they can’t do it without the master plan. Belichick has been building strong roster over the years. His team went through a lot in the last few years. Brady left the team and Belichick is trying to build another strong team. Mac Jones replaces Brady and the second-year quarterback is really busy handling each and every challenge in his way.

Steve Belichick surprises doubters with his mantra for the playoffs

Belichick’s son appeared on Chris Long’s “Green Light” podcast to talk about the team and players’ mindset in the playoffs.

“We have a saying around here: ‘Once you get to the playoffs, only one plane lands — and everybody else crashes and burns in the ocean,’” Steve said. “It’s the truth.”

“Only one team’s plane is going to land and everybody else is going to crash and burn. That time of the year, it’s either a hat and t-shirt game or it’s a trash bag game. You’re cleaning out your locker with trash bags or you’re celebrating with some new hats and t-shirts.”

Steve received another question about the worst “plane crash”, and his response was pretty hilarious.

“You guys beating us in the Philly Super Bowl in 2017. That sucked.”

Belichick and the Patriots are getting ready for another challenging season. This may be one of the most challenging season they have ever played. Jones has to meet expectations and win more than seven straight games. Steve and his father will be super busy working with the new guys. They signed a bunch of talented players and they will all have a busy preseason.
