AD & LeBron Recently Sent Strong Statement to Russell Westbrook

LeBron James and Anthony Davis wanted the Los Angeles Lakers to get Russell Westbrook last season. Rob Pelinka traded three players and some picks to get the All-Star. This experiment failed and Westbrook earned a bunch of haters in Los Angeles. He may be a good player, but he was a terrible fit for the Lakers.

The Lakers are looking for potential solutions. They have been linked to several players. Truth is, Pelinka doesn’t have much money to work with, but he can pull out a trade to make things work. Doing a sign-and-trade is always an option.

Pelinka had a chance to trade Westbrook in February. However, he decided to keep the veteran on the roster. Everyone noticed LeBron’s frustration. He didn’t even greet his teammate at the Lakers Summer League opener.

LeBron and AD talked to Russell Westbrook

Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reported that LeBron and AD had a phone convo with their teammate. Is everything fine between them? Absolutely. In other words, Westbrook will probably be a Laker in the 2022-23 season.

“The Los Angeles Lakers’ Big 3 of LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook huddled up on a phone conversation the first weekend of NBA Summer League in Las Vegas with each expressing their commitment to one another and vowing to make it work, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

While the uncertainty of Westbrook’s future with the Lakers remains, the conversation was organized to make sure all three were on the same page as long as they’re joined together in their pursuit of a championship, sources said.”

“As reported weeks ago, the current asking price to take on Westbrook is the Lakers’ 2027 or 2029 first-round pick, at a minimum, according to multiple league sources,” Buha wrote.

Will Pelinka make a move to change this? Several reports suggest that LeBron and AD are actually trying to trade for Kyrie Irving. The Brooklyn Nets veteran opted into his deal with the franchise, but it’s too soon to make a prediction.

The Lakers have a new head coach. Darvin Ham respects Westbrook and everything he brings to the floor. He will try to get the best of Russ and this probably increased the veteran’s chances to stay in LA.
