Lakers Advised to Trade Anthony Davis for Former MVP & 12-Time All-Star

The Los Angeles Lakers have been linked to several players this offseason. Kyrie Irving was commonly mentioned in recent trade talks, but Chris Palmer bets on another option. According to him, the Lakers should trade Anthony Davis for another All-Star.

“Forget Kyrie. Kevin Durant for Anthony Davis is the trade that makes the most sense for the Lakers,” Palmer wrote. “Unload Davis before he’s untradeable. KD turns a losing team into a champion and totally redeems himself.”

The Lakers traded a big chunk of their roster to get Davis. The big man helped the team win a championship in his first year in LA. Yes, he struggled to stay healthy in the last couple of seasons, but he is one of the best players in the NBA. Why would Rob Pelinka trade him?

LA can trade AD and a few picks to Brooklyn to get KD. Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN reported that Brooklyn will ask for an All-Star and a few first-rounders to get Durant. The best part? LeBron has an excellent relationship with Durant. These two would be lethal in the NBA. Imagine them going against tough opponents.

It won’t be that easy though.

Lakers may trade Anthony Davis for another All-Star

Sam Amick and Jovan Buha of The Athletic reported that the Lakers may not trade their big man to get KD. They are probably more interested in trading for Irving. The latter won a championship with LeBron.

“As for the prospect of the Lakers trying to get in on the Durant sweepstakes themselves, perhaps by making Davis available in the process, a source close to the situation put the chances at ‘zero.’ Their focus, it seems, is on Irving,” Amick and Buha reported. “And vice versa.”

Will LeBron support this trade? Davis is a Klutch Sports client. LeBron has an excellent chemistry with AD. They are great friends on and off the floor. Davis is a regular guest in LeBron’s house. We have a few reasons to believe that LeBron won’t let Davis go that easily. What do you think about this?
