Lakers’ Anthony Davis & LeBron James Forcing Blockbuster Trade

LeBron James and Anthony Davis wanted the Los Angeles Lakers to get Russell Westbrook through a trade. The front office traded Montrezl Harrell, Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell Pope, and some picks to get Russ. This experiment didn’t work. Many thought that the Lakers would get rid of Westbrook by now. However, general manager Rob Pelinka decided to finish the 2021-22 NBA season with Westbrook on his roster. LA has a new head coach and the front office probably expects a miracle development.

Sources reveal that LeBron and AD are now pushing for another trade. King James was visibly frustrated in the last couple of months of the regular season. He couldn’t hide his disappointment. He liked Westbrook and they looked good on and off the floor. Well, they didn’t meet at the Lakers Summer League game. Both Lakers players attended the game, but there was no contact.

Davis and LeBron want the Lakers to trade for a big target?

LA may be looking for a trade partner, but there haven’t been any details of such search. Dan Woike and Broderick Turner reported that Lakers players want Kyrie Irving on their roster. Irving was linked to the Lakers last month, but he opted into his deal with the Brooklyn Nets. Kevin Durant was also mentioned as an option and he has already demanded a trade. Will the Lakers manage to get KD and keep both AD and LeBron on the roster? It’s a tricky situation.

“Still, the relationship between the Lakers and [Russell] Westbrook has looked severely strained this offseason,” Woike and Turner wrote. “He attended the Lakers’ summer league opener in Las Vegas, but he and LeBron James, who was also there, didn’t speak — a stark contrast to their time together last summer.

“The awkwardness was noted throughout NBA circles, with strong beliefs that the Lakers’ biggest stars have been pushing for the team to trade for Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving.”

Irving has played with LeBron and they also got a ring together. Everything seems to be fine between these two, so maybe LeBron would want to join forces with his former buddy.
