Lakers Ink Ex Bulls Forward, Former 1st-Round Pick Who Is Klutch Client

The Los Angeles Lakers aren’t losing their time. The storied franchise will keep its superstars on the roster, but there’s plenty of room for new names. According to Dave McMenamin from ESPN, the Lakers have made a move to ink former Chicago Bulls forward Troy Brown Jr.

Brown, 22, got a one-year deal with the Lakers. It may not be much, but it’s definitely a good start.

Lakers sign the Bulls forward to add young power to their team

Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka packed the roster with veteran power last offseason. However, he seems to be taking a different route this time. The Lakers have added a few young players and Brown is sure a good fit in this aspect.

The Washington Wizards selected Brown in the first round of the NBA draft. He is a nice addition to the defensive end of the ball. Of course, Brown won’t help the Lakers as a shooter, because he is not an elite scorer. This doesn’t change the fact that he is an exceptional player who can contribute to the game. Brown is relatively young and he has plenty of time to develop his skills and sharpen his moves.

The Lakers front office has this thing with Klutch Sports. The agency represents both LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Brown is also their client. There’s more. The Lakers have also added Lonnie Walker and Juan Toscano-Anderson. Both players are Klutch Sports clients.

Pelinka is adding size and athleticism to his roster. He will have to find some great shooters to increase the team’s chances to make the playoffs. The Lakers are coming off of a bad season and Pelinka has to solve a few issues on his table. Finding great shooters is a priority now.

“The Lakers’ next priority as the offseason unfolds is to address their outside shooting, sources told ESPN. L.A. ranked 22nd in the league in 3-point shooting last season, hitting just 34.7% of its team attempts,” Dave McMenamin wrote.

Pelinka may decide to bring back some of the players he had on the 2021-22 roster. Any suggestions?
