Mac Jones Connects With Rhamondre Stevenson, Patriots Receivers

New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones is not wasting his time this offseason and he was spotted working out with receivers on multiple occasions. The Alabama prospect led the team to a seven-game winning streak last season and he wants to do better this time. Head coach Bill Belichick brought a lot of new guys in New England and Jones has to build strong relationship with them all.

New England selected Jones last season, hoping to find the best replacement for Tom Brady. Cam Newton joined the team for a season, but Jones beat him in the quarterback contest last summer. Belichick handed him the keys to the offense and Jones understood the assignment. Yes, he had some issues here and there, but this doesn’t change the fact that he had a monster season. In fact, Jones did better than other rookie quarterbacks in 2021.

Young Jones had a workout with DeVante Parker a few weeks ago. Now he is spending time with newly-signed WR Lil’Jordan Humphrey. Kristian Wilkerson and Tyrin Ralph were there, too. Surprisingly, Rhamondre Stevenson joined the group as well. Belichick elevated him to the active roster last offseason and Stevenson got the best of this chance.

Ralph took to his Instagram stories to share a photo of the group. Wilkerson shared a photo of himself, and yes, marked Dallas as his location.

Zack Cox from NESN was among the first to report that Jones threw passes to Wilkerson and Humphrey.

The Patriots gave Humphrey a one-year deal last month. He spent three seasons with the New Orleans Saints and now he is a Patriot. Belichick has a crowded receiving unit and some of the players won’t survive the final roster trimmings. Parker, Kendrick Bourne, and Jakobi Meyers seem to have locked their spots. Nelson Agholor, Tre Nixon, Ty Montgomery, N’Keal Harry, and Malcolm Perry will have to try harder. Agholor had decent performance this spring and he showed great improvement. Nixon is a pleasant surprise and he may snatch someone’s place later this month.
