NBA Champion Went Off About Lakers Anthony Davis

The Los Angeles Lakers had high expectations from Anthony Davis a few seasons ago. They traded a big chunk of their roster to get the big man. AD helped the team win a title in the middle of the pandemic. Sadly, he struggled to stay healthy in the last couple of seasons and missed a lot of games.

Several NBA analysts advised the Lakers to trade their big man and get someone who is not prone to injuries. This was unlikely to happen and AD will have a big role in the 2022-23 NBA season. Moreover, Kendrick Perkins said that the Lakers big man will win the MVP award next season.

“We all can agree that Anthony Davis is a top-five talent right now,” Perkins said on “NBA Today.” “Look, Anthony Davis healthy — I actually have Anthony Davis picked as my MVP winner for next season. Early prediction. I think Anthony Davis is gonna come back with something to prove. Anthony Davis has been wakin’ up at four o’clock in the morning, gettin’ in workouts, goin’ three-a-days.

“Anthony Davis looks in phenomenal shape. Davis has been hearin’ all the noise, all the chatter. Just remember, two years ago we were actually having a conversation about who would we rather [have]: Giannis Antetokounmpo or Anthony Davis. That’s how elite Anthony Davis was on both ends of the floor. So when I think about Anthony Davis, in my opinion, one of the most skilled big men to ever play the game of basketball. It’s nothin’ that he doesn’t have in his arsenal offensively on the offensive end.”

Lakers have high expectations from Anthony Davis

Staying healthy is a priority for Davis. He played in just 76 games in the last two seasons and fans were slightly disappointed.

Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka is far from concerned. In his interview with Doris Burke and Mark Jones, Pelinka said that his superstar has had one of the best offseasons in his career. AD didn’t play much basketball in the offseason, but he had plenty of time to rest and recover. He plays basketball in the final portion of his offseason.
