Patriots’ David Andrews Reveals Predictably Favorite NASCAR Driver

New England Patriots center David Andrews grew up idolizing NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Sr. He knew that being inside a NASCAR car was quite a thing and he was a real fan of the challenge. This love led him all the way to the pace car on Sunday. Andrews drove a pace car at the Ambetter 301. It was a wild Sunday for Andrews and he enjoyed every bit of it.

“Growing up, Dale Earnhardt Sr., I thought that was super cool,” the Patriots veteran told Dakota Randall from NESN. “I was a young athlete, and the whole persona I thought was something really cool — kind of being a different person inside of the football field versus out, same in and out of a race car.

“Now, I had the opportunity to meet Chase (Elliot), and obviously, a lot of mutual interest, grew up pretty close to each other. Big Georgia fans and we’ve had a lot of success, personally, over our careers. So it’s been pretty cool to see his career grow and all success he’s had, on a little bit of a hot streak right now, too. We’ll see what happens.”

David Andrews is more than just being a NASCAR fan

Andrews is a new guy in this game and this only adds up to his excitement. He enjoyed his first ride in a pace care and hopefully, he will repeat this experience. It’s really challenging, but Andrews can do it all. He is a star, remember?

“I was a little nervous bit at first,” Andrews said of his practice sessions. “It seemed a little bit more complicated, but I think it’s going to be so much fun. Dad’s super excited. He texted me about it.

“I hope no one gets into me, bumps me a little bit but super excited and what a cool experience.”

Andrews is entering another important season in the NFL and everyone has high expectations from him, including head coach Bill Belichick. The talented player has key role on the field and he will probably have another spectacular season.
