Proposed Blockbuster Trade Gives Lakers Superstar Duo

A blockbuster trade could give the Los Angeles Lakers a chance to reshape the roster completely. Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka deals with a lot of issues at the moment. His players sustained serious injuries last season, missing significant time during the regular season. Anthony Davis and LeBron James were out for a big chunk of the season and their teammates struggled to create a bond. LA didn’t even make the playoffs. It’s time to shake things up!

Kyrie Irving was probably the biggest target for the Lakers this offseason. The veteran will probably finish his deal with the Nets and then become an unrestricted free agent. What about Kevin Durant? The veteran requested a trade from the Nets. He is not happy with his situation in Brooklyn and they are now looking for a trade partner. The Nets tried really hard to keep Durant on the roster and didn’t pay much attention to Irving rumors.

Now we have people suggesting that the Lakers can get both Irving and KD.

Blockbuster trade solves many problems in the Lakers front office and Brooklyn

Ricky O’Donnell from SB Nation was the first to bring this topic. According to him, the Lakers can work on a deal for Irving and Durant. They’d have to give up on Russ, AD, Talen Horton-Tucker, and Austin Reaves.

LeBron has an excellent relationship with AD. Will he even support this trade? He and Irving overcame the obstacles and can finally play together. Will KD agree to play with LeBron? These three guys are incredibly competitive and they’d gladly take the leading position on any team. Irving left the Cleveland Cavaliers just because he wanted to lead his own team. It’s a tricky situation for everyone and it won’t develop into a realistic plan. It sounds good, though, and can easily solve many problems in Brooklyn and LA.

There are so many options right now and the Lakers have to make the right move. Darvin Ham will work with a strong team, but hey, he may find a way to use King James, AD, and Russ in the 2022-23 season.
