2-Time All-Star & $18 Million Guard Goes Off About Lakers’ Russell Westbrook

The Los Angeles Lakers have yet to make a move about Russell Westbrook. He is coming off of a disappointing season and fans aren’t really excited about his performance. An All-Star guard talked about Westbrook and his role with the team and some fans share the same opinion.

Miami Heat guard Victor Oladipo and former NBA star Vince Carter opened the topic on the “VC Show”. Oladipo had a chance to train with Russ, meaning he knows him really well. These two played together for a year in Oklahoma. Westbrook was more efficient back in the days and he actually won the MVP award. Oladipo and Russ are still friends.

“Right now, we on the same wavelength,” Oladipo said. “And when I say that, you said it best. You have to sit down and talk to him to understand where he’s at, but he’s there.”

The All-Star guard knows Westbrook really well

The Lakers have to find the best solution for Westbrook. Lakers head coach Darvin Ham respects Westbrook and everything he has accomplished in his career. Russ is well aware of the fact that the Lakers are looking for a trade partner.

“As it stands, barring a trade to ship out Westbrook suddenly coalescing after weeks of fruitless talks, (Darvin) Ham is going to have to coach Westbrook, which is bound to be challenging in the extreme given that Westbrook is well aware that the Lakers have been trying hard to move him,” Stein reported. “And that James badly wants Irving to take his place.”

The Lakers have shown great interest in multiple players in the NBA. They were linked to Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. Several other players make perfect sense for the team. I guess Rob Pelinka will wait for a few more weeks before he makes a move. He may keep Westbrook on his roster after all. Ham likes him and Russ even attended his introductory press conference. These two may have a plan for the upcoming season after all.

LA got Westbrook for a reason and he is really talented. Maybe he had a bad year after all. Maybe it was just a bad year.
