Bill Belichick Frustrated By Giants After Preseason Loss

The New England Patriots lost the preseason opener to the New York Giants. It was like a big practice for the team and new players who joined the team in the offseason. Head coach Bill Belichick was visibly upset with the preseason loss, but we all know how this ends. An upset Bill Belichick can take the team to the Super Bowl. It’s time to add another trophy to his portfolio.

It was a bad 24-21 loss to the Giants. Of course, Belichick didn’t have his starters on the field. Second-year quarterback Mac Jones didn’t play and the same goes to other starters. It was a great opportunity to pick the best backup options for the team and see how things worked for the new guys.

Bill Belichick adjusting his gameplan during preseason games

Belichick had some issues with Giants defensive coordinator Don “Wink” Martindale. The Patriots head coach believes that Martindale fired too many blitz calls against his team. Zack Cox from NESN covered the concept, adding the Giants players were “blitz-happy.” Are you ready for more preseason blitz numbers? Check the following tweet.

The NFL doesn’t have a rule regarding the blitzing teams do during an exhibition game. However, head coaches are well aware of the fact that too much blitzing puts signal-callers in danger. Exhibition games are nothing but well-organized practices and these games can’t even affect the course of the season.

Martindale took this exhibition game a little too seriously. He seems to ignore the unwritten rule and took his competitiveness to another level. This game won’t affect the Patriots and their gameplan for the new season. Belichick knows his job and he is waiting to fire his best shots in the regular season. September is already here and Patriots players are getting ready for the challenge. The Giants showed their initial plan and Belichick will definitely take it into consideration.

The Patriots will also meet Josh McDaniels and the Las Vegas Raiders in the preseason. It will be a game worth watching, so make sure you don’t miss it.
