Lakers Advised To Trade For $80 Million Center

LeBron James will stay in Los Angeles for two more seasons and the front office has to make some much-needed moves to make the playoffs again. The four-time NBA champion inked his contract extension with the franchise. Jeanie Buss has nothing but respect for him, meaning she will get all the players he needs to get his fifth ring. The Lakers need more titles, right? Marc J. Spears has an advice for the Lakers. According to him, the Lakers have to make a move and trade for a top center.

Is Myles Tyler the best option for LA right now? Spears believes that Tyler would be the best go-to guy whenever Davis missed time due to injuries. The big man missed a lot of games last season and the Lakers struggled to make an impact in his absence.

“If you get Myles Turner, he averaged seven rebounds a game last season. He also makes one-and-a-half threes a game, he averaged 13.0 points. I think Myles Turner really helps the Lakers,” Spears said on ESPN’s NBA Today. “If Anthony Davis misses games, you’ve got a quality power forward/center who could fill the void. That was the bad thing with the Lakers, once Anthony was gone, their bigs were depleted. they had nobody to fill the void. So, with Anthony Davis, those two guys I think can be great together. Without Anthony Davis, he could help the ship stay afloat.”

Lakers could trade for the center to get a nice backup for AD

Turner is in the final year of his $80 million deal. Pelinka has a few good reasons to sign him. His stats may not be crazy, but he is a good three-point shooter and can definitely protect the glass. Turner’s rebounds could be a good boost for the franchise and yes, we’d add a few more qualities here. In 2021-22, Turner averaged 12.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks per game.

The Lakers want to make the playoffs again and they will probably get players who fit LeBron’s criteria. He knows a lot about the game after all.
