Lakers’ Russell Westbrook, Patrick Beverley Took Major Step To Squashing Beef
The Los Angeles Lakers will have both Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley on the 2022-23 roster. The front office traded for Beverley a few days ago. They are still looking for potential trade partners, but we have a feeling that Russ will put on a Lakers jersey in the upcoming season.
Trading for Beverley was a really shocking move for the team. Kyrie Irving was a top target for the Lakers, but the veteran will stay in Brooklyn. Kevin Durant requested a trade and he is staying in Brooklyn, too. LA had several other options, but no one mentioned Beverley. We all know why.
The beef between Westbrook and Beverley started many years ago. The one-time MVP sustained serious injury and had to undergo multiple surgeries to fix his knee. Beverley was responsible for this mess. There were several other altercations over the years. Last season, the Lakers were playing the Minnesota Timberwolves, and Beverley disrespected Westbrook, calling him “trash.” Well, he will have to play with the “trash” in the upcoming season. How does Beverley feel about this? Westbrook said a few things, too. He once criticized Beverley’s defense. According to newly-hired Lakers head coach Darvin Ham, Russ and Beverley are in contact. He even wants to use the both on the floor at the same time.
Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley have already been in contact since becoming Lakers teammates, league sources tell me, and new coach Darvin Ham has told them he has lineups in mind to play Russ and PatBev side-by-side.

Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley will find a way to work together
LeBron James is here to make things work. He addressed all the rumors about Westbrook’s role with the Lakers, saying he is really excited for the new season. Guess what… Beverley said the same.

Beverley is an excellent player and he adds a nice boost to the Lakers defense. Westbrook is one of the better players in the NBA, too. He just has to overcome some obstacles and find a way to fit in the Lakers roster. Ham will make things easier for him.
Lakers fans have some questions for the new season but they are also confident about the new roster. Pelinka is set to sign new players in order to adjust his roster to perfection.
