Patriots Have Considered Trading 3-Year Starter

The New England Patriots won’t think twice before trading another starter. Head coach Bill Belichick is all-in when it comes to getting rings and he doesn’t mind cutting valuable players who fail to make an impact. He has traded key players back in the days without even having a second thought.

Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated reported that the Patriots have discussed the potential trade of Isaiah Wynn. The talented left tackle has been a starter for the team, but he has been making too many headlines lately. Let’s not forget that he missed spring OTAs.

According to Breer, the team contacted other teams. The cap space is a bit tight now and Belichick has to come up with an ideal solution. Yes, Wynn is a valuable player for the team. He is a starter and Belichick doesn’t have enough depth at this position. If players behind him show great performance, the Patriots will send him somewhere else.

Patriots may be trading their starter sooner than expected

Talented Wynn is on his fifth-year option. Analysts would argue that Wynn is not an elite player, meaning they won’t pay him too much to get $10.4 million.

We can’t really say that Wynn will leave the team at this point. Belichick has a few decisions to make. Trading Wynn is not that easy and maybe he will start games in September.

The Patriots have a good roster right now. Dalton Keene left the team for obvious reasons. Belichick has a few more moves on the table. Let’s see who will be the next to leave the storied organization. Keene is parting ways with the Patriots after three seasons. He didn’t really make an impact on the field. We can’t say the same for Wynn. Belichick has his reasons to do things and Robert Kraft trusts his experience. He is the GOAT among all coaches in the NFL. Trading Wynn? Why not? Impossible is nothing at this point. What are your thoughts on this? What would be the most painless move for the Patriots? Wynn may be too valuable to go, but Belichick will have the final word.
