The Los Angeles Lakers have entered a really important offseason. General Manager Rob Pelinka and others at the front office fired Frank Vogel and hired Darvin Ham. He seemed like a really good option and yes, he even had a solution to the Russell Westbrook drama. Austin Reaves has another solution for the Lakers and he sure believes they can become champions.
The Lakers lost too many games in the last couple of seasons. LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and most of the players sustained injuries and sat out a big chunk of the regular season. Reaves admits that players have to stay healthy.
“Health is the main thing. I mean, you can’t really avoid some situations, like AD’s (Anthony Davis) ankle injury last season,” Reaves told Charania on September 13. “Tough situations like that are hard, but that’s the goal, the goal is to win every game we play, and we’re ready to get it started…We’ve all been in the gym, everybody on the team’s been working, and just preparing for the season to come.”
Austin Reaves knows his Lakers are champions
The young Laker was more than excited to share the floor with LeBron. It’s a great opportunity and he also had a chance to learn from the best. LeBron likes his potential and praises his skills and Reaves feels the same way for the four-time NBA champion.
Playing with LeBron motivates players to do their best. Reaves revealed that LeBron helps his teammates to become better players. He is not into individual awards. LeBron relies on team efforts and wants everyone to do their best.
“I mean, he really puts you in the right spots for you to be successful but also for the team. He really is someone that can orchestrate and really hold a game,” Reaves said. “For me to be able to share the floor with him, you know I have these moments like the meme that are very special to me and, you know, hopefully, we can keep doing it.”
Let’s see how this goes. Reaves is excited about the new season and so is Ham.
