Patriots Inactives Released: Rookie Rusher Debuts, Corner Scratched

The New England Patriots will play against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2 and the team has released the list of inactives. Head coach Bill Belichick had to work without some of his key players. The Patriots lost the regular-season opener to the Miami Dolphins and they have to prepare for the Steelers.

Here’s the list of inactives:

CB Marcus Jones

S Joshuah Bledsoe

QB Bailey Zappe

DL Sam Roberts

OL Chasen Hines

Patriots list of inactives leaves no room for worries

Strong will see action for the first time since joining the Lakers. The fourth-round selection missed the game against the Dolphins, but will definitely play on Sunday. The talented rookie adds great depth to the backfield. He will contribute behind Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson. Ty Montgomery was added to the IR list, leaving an empty spot on the roster. Will Strong step in as a replacement for Montgomery in the passing game? NFL analysts believe that he will be limited to special teams duties.

Cornerback Marcus Jones saw just four snaps in the 20-7 loss to the Dolphins and he is a healthy scratch this week. The third-round cornerback will stay at the sideline on Sunday.

Second-year pro Shaun Wade will step in as a replacement for Jones on the gameday roster. Wade didn’t play in the game against the Dolphins. He is taller than Jones and maybe he will work better than himon the field.

Anfernee Jennings goes back in the lineup. He was a healthy scratch in Week 1 and now he will play on the field. The linebacker could be of great use for the team.

Safety Adrian Phillips, left tackle Trent Brown, and linebacker Raekwon McMillan were listed as questionable due to injuries and they are active now.

The Patriots ruled out Bledsoe due to a groin injury on Thursday.

Let’s see if the Patriots manage to beat the Steelers on Sunday. It’s an important game for every player. Matt Patricia has to prove doubters wrong, too. The NFL world made prediction about the game. Who is winning this one?
