Patriots Suddenly Release Veteran Defender From Injured Reserve

The Patriots placed Asiasi on season-ending injured reserve two days ago. Now he is gone. The veteran didn’t get the best of his time with the Patriots. Younger and healthier players took his spot on the 2022 roster.

Anderson joined the Patriots through a two-year deal. NFL experts have high expectations for his game and fans wanted to see a major contributor on the football field. Head coach Belichick had great plans for Anderson, too. It didn’t happen. Anderson sustained a season-ending pectoral injury at the beginning of the 2021 season. He ended up on injured reserve and the Patriots reworked his contract ahead of the regular season. Anderson ended up on IR again and the team cut ties with him. Where will he go now? Belichick won’t stop making changes and he will do whatever it takes to keep his roster working without any trouble. Patriots players trained well this summer, but their preseason wasn’t that good. Interestingly, the Patriots lost the game to the team coached by former Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. It was an unexpected loss for the team, but hey, this loss will motivate players to overcome each and every obstacle on their way to the Super Bowl.
