Proposed Trade Sends Anthony Davis To Golden State Warriors

The Los Angeles Lakers have received a lot of trade proposals in the last few months. Oh, wait, the whole thing started months ago. Russell Westbrook’s struggled motivated analysts to find the perfect trade partner for the franchise. Is Westbrook the only trade asset on Rob Pelinka’s roster? Now we have another proposal suggesting that the Lakers should trade Anthony Davis to the Golden State Warriors.

It doesn’t get more awkward than this. AD is one of the better players in the NBA. Of course, he has to stay healthy to perform at a high level. The Lakers traded a big chunk of their young core to get Davis. He did wonders in his debut with the team and helped LeBron James and other Lakers players get a title. Pairing him and LeBron was a really good decision. It seemed like a good decision until Year 2. AD missed a significant time due to his injury. He missed time in his third year with the Lakers, too. Analysts now see him as a tradeable player who can help the Lakers get someone who can actually play most of the games in the regular season.

LeBron came to Los Angeles to win titles. He hasn’t won one in the last couple of years. Pelinka has to make some strong changes to make things work. Getting a younger star could be the best option for the storied franchise.

Trade ships Anthony Davis to Warriors

Alex Kirschenbaum from Sports Illustrated has a suggestion. Imagine sending AD to the Golden State… The Warriors may try to add another veteran to strengthen their roster and get a chance to win another title.

Is Andrew Wiggins the right player to join the Lakers?

Ryan Aston from Heavy.com has something to say about this trade. The Golden State gets AD and Kendrick Nunn and LA gets Wiggins, James Wiseman, and a couple of first-round picks. Does this make sense?

“The best part: unlike some of the other Davis trade permutations we’ve seen, Poole, Jonathan Kuminga, and Moses Moody all remain untouched, and the Dubs only lose one rotational player from their title run,” Aston wrote.

AD is prone to injuries and this may be the biggest concern right now. Is he the first player to leave the team?
