Russell Westbrook Goes Viral With Move That May Change How Lakers Fans See Him

The Los Angeles Lakers may be looking for a trade partner to get rid of Russell Westbrook, but the one-time NBA champion has a big surprise for his Lakers fans.

Westbrook joined the Lakers in a blockbuster trade. It turned out to be a bad move and Westbrook struggled to make an impact on the basketball court. Yes, he is one of the better players in the NBA, but his time with the Lakers was filled with failure. Fans got really frustrated and most of them wanted Rob Pelinka to trade the struggling veteran. It got so bad that Westbrook didn’t want his family to attend home games. Fans were chanting “Westbrick” and it felt really uncomfortable.

Russell Westbrook to earn the trust of his Lakers fans

In the 2021-22 NBA season, Westbrook averaged 18.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 7.1 assists in 78 starts. He finished second in turnovers and had the sixth-worse effective field goal percentage. Rob Pelinka brought him to LA to help LeBron James and Anthony Davis lead the team to the NBA Finals. It didn’t happen and several reports suggested that LeBron wants Westbrook out of the team, too. They didn’t say a word to one another at the Lakers Summer League which was more than enough to sparkle a big rumor. Will LeBron try his best to eliminate Westbrook from his team? We know he was a fan of the Kyrie Irving trade.

Pelinka is still trying to trade Westbrook, but the veteran mastered a new jumper. He is now viral!

Westbrook shot 29.8% from beyond the arc and ranked 42nd in true shooting percentage. His “bricks” may put a spell to his time in LA, but the veteran seems to be doing his best to earn the trust of the Lakers fanbase.

The Lakers traded for Patrick Beverley and also got Dennis Schroder. The signing of these two made people talk about Westbrook’s eventual departure. However, Marc Stein reported that Darvin Ham will try really hard to find the right role for Russ. He may be the only one to secure Westbrook’s future with the Lakers.
