ESPN Makes ‘Bold Prediction’ For Patriots’ Week 8 Clash With Jets

The New England Patriots will meet the New York Jets in Week 8 of the 2022 NFL season. The Patriots have quite a situation at quarterback. Mac Jones returned to game action, but Bill Belichick removed him from the game. This removal took place after an interception. Bailey Zappe led the team to a win twice and Belichick threw him in the game after Jones’ removal. New England played better than the Jets over the years, but the Jets have a better record at the moment.

The Jets have a 5-2 record at this point of the regular season. According to ESPN, they have a better record than the Patriots entering a match for the first time since the 2001 NFL season. Belichick’s team has won the last 12 games. Will they win this one? The Patriots are coming off of an unexpected loss to the Chicago Bears. Jones’ role is a bit messy. Should we add more?

Patriots to beat the Jets in Week 8

Patriots are favorites to win this game. New York will be without some key players and this goes in favor of Belichick and his team.

Mike Reiss from ESPN offered a prediction about the upcoming game. Some NFL analysts will agree with him on this one.

“This game will come down to the kickers — Nick Folk (Patriots) and Greg Zuerlein (Jets) — and if they can deliver in the clutch from distance,” Reiss wrote. “Folk did it once before at MetLife Stadium, drilling a 51-yarder as time expired on Nov. 9, 2020. Meanwhile, Zuerlein is the only kicker in the NFL this season to go 4-of-4 in a game on field goals of 40 yards or more.”

The Patriots have overcome major obstacles and Belichick is an optimist about the game. Of course, everyone has to improve and get better. Players are motivated to win and that’s the only thing that matters. Jones may not be 100% and played poorly early in the season, but Belichick trusts his potential. Zappe is dominant and efficient.
