Patriots Embattled Veteran ‘Expected To Be Available’ At NFL Trade Deadline

The New England Patriots won two straight games and a rookie quarterback had the keys to the offense. Mac Jones will return to the field eventually and the Patriots will probably use him as a starting quarterback. This leads us all the way to the other part of the roster. Some players seem to struggle on the field and the trade deadline is already here. Who will be the first to go? Dan Graziano from ESPN bets on a Patriots veteran, suggesting that the struggling player will be available at the trade deadline.

The Patriots should thing twice before putting the veteran WR on the trade block

Bourne is a talented player, but he had a hard time accepting the new offensive scheme. His attitude was a problem and Matt Patricia punished him for being late at meetings. Bourne is unhappy with his current situation in New England and yes, he voiced his concerns in a few occasions.

This development came as a surprise because Bourne was one of the better players in 2021. He had a key role with the team and Robert Kraft likes him. The Patriots owner didn’t like the fact that Bourne was benched early in the season, too.

Bourne signed a three-year deal with the Patriots, delivering 55 receptions for 800 receiving yards and five touchdowns in his first season with the team. Things went down the hill and Bourne really struggles right now.

The Patriots won’t give up on Bourne that easily. Belichick can’t afford losing an experienced veteran. Bourne is a wide receiver who can run. The Patriots like him and yes, he can contribute at a high level. The veteran is not a pricey player which makes him a good option for the team. He is not eating up their money after all.

Belichick has to make some calculations and make the best move for the team. Losing Bourne would be a big blow for the team. His game is elite and he just needs to find a way and fit in the new offense. That’s all. Let’s see what happens in the next few days.
