Patriots Rookie Disrespected By Packers QB Aaron Rodgers

The New England Patriots lost the game to the Green Bay Packers and something awkward happened on the football field. Rookie cornerback Jack Jones says Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers disrespected him during the game. Keep in mind that Jones had an incredible performance with the team. So, what happened on the field?

Jones finished his Week 4 with a forced fumble, fumble recovery, and a pick-six on the veteran QB. The young cornerback had his first career interception in the game.

“I was reading my keys and he threw it outside,” Jones said in the postgame press conference. “I had a chance to make a play on the ball…I got the pick and I just ran.”

Well, it wasn’t that innocent and Jones reminded everyone about the disrespect he was served.

“Personally, I find it disrespectful to throw an out route on me,” Jones said. “If you can get the ball outside of me, I’m no good.”

What about his forced fumble?

“Once he got around me, I tried to make sure he went back inside, but once he got around me I tried to come back around and punch at the ball,” Jones said. “I didn’t get the best punch, but it was good enough to get the ball out so that’s good.”

Bill Belichick praises the Patriots rookie cornerback after losing the game to Aaron Rodgers

Belichick didn’t miss the opportunity to praise his cornerback. Jones did an incredible job and showed the Patriots that signing him was a really smart move.

“We will look at the film and see how it goes,” the Patriots head coach said. “Jack made some good plays and there are some other things he can work on like everybody, like all of us. It was a big play at the end of the half.”

Matthew Judon says Jones had an incredible start of his career as a starting defensive back. According to him, Jones “has to ride that wave.” Devin McCourty made similar comments. The veteran cornerback praised his younger teammate for his consistency and the way he learned from his mistakes.
