Nets’ Kevin Durant Goes Off About Lakers’ Superstar LeBron James

Kevin Durant and LeBron James never played on the same team, but they have nothing but respect for one another. LeBron is the best NBA player of all time and Durant knows it. Fun fact? He is fine with it. Moreover, he even thinks it’s cool to be the GOAT. This takes us all the way to LeBron and his GOAT status.

The four-time NBA champion plays elite basketball from the very first moment he entered the league. His elite performance has helped him win four rings and LeBron is about to pass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the all-time scoring list. It’s safe to say Durant is more than impressed.

“To be the No. 1 in anything, there’s 8 billion people in the world, we just figured that out last week, so to be the No. 1 of all time at scoring the basketball, I’m sure it’s going to be a range of emotions for him,” Durant said on November 25. “But to be in an era where we see this live is pretty cool as well. You probably can’t even describe the emotions and feelings him and his family and his friends are going to go through, but it’s cool to see it up close.”

Kevin Durant never chased LeBron James or Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

Durant and LeBron have met in the playoffs more than once. They are rivals on the court, but Durant respects LeBron. The whole respect thing goes the other way round, too.

LeBron made name for himself and he is friends with most players in the NBA. The GOAT is all-in when it comes to winning games and improving his team. Reaching a milestone is part of his great career It’s an effortless reward. Durant was never into it.

“I never really thought of it,” Durant said. “I heard the talks, especially early on in my career when I was doing stuff the LeBrons, the Michael Jordans have done in the league as far as scoring, but I know how tough it is to consistently do this year in and year out, day in and day out. A lot of stuff is out of your control. But I just try to come in and be the best version of myself I can be, and whatever happens, happens.”
