Patriots Rookie Called Out For ‘Stupid Mistake’ Vs. Minnesota Vikings

The New England Patriots had a chance tot the Minnesota Vikings and one particular rookie took the blame to the loss. Head coach Bill Belichick and his players were close to winning their Week 12 game. Unfortunately, players made a few mistakes and missed the opportunity to beat the Vikings.

Patriots rookie running back Pierre Strong Jr. made the biggest mistake during the night. Karen Guregian from Boston Herald discussed the play, saying Strong’s “stupid mistake” added another loss to the chart.

“Rookie Pierre Strong ran into the punter on a 4th-and-3 to give the Vikings another set of downs with the five-yard penalty, which led to the winning score four plays later,” Guregian wrote. “Belichick really tore into Strong on the sideline after that. He knew what giving the Vikings offense meant. His defense struggled all night to contain Kirk Cousins, Justin Jefferson, et al. But giving them another chance after you finally forced them to punt? That was deadly, and Belichick knew it.”

Patriots rookie and the coaching staff led to the loss against the Vikings

Evan Lazar from Patriots.com criticized Strong, too. Well, Lazar was more focused on Belichick and his decision to rush the punter. He had other plans for the game, but Belichick’s vision was slightly different.

Lazar noted that Jonathon Jones was the player in Strong’s position in the game against the Indianapolis Colts. There are so many different scenarios about these two games, but Belichick took his route without a hesitation. He knows the game and he’s been winning games for two decades. This “mistake” may cost the Patriots their game, but Belichick knows what he’s doing.

When it comes to Jones, he had two personal foul penalties. He should take some responsibility for the loss.

The Patriots lost a few games so far in the regular season. Let’s see how things go in the next few games. Belichick lost a few players to injures, but his coaching staff seems to have everything under control. Belichick never misses a beat, right? Will his team make the big game this season?
