Bill Belichick Shares Encouraging Injury Update On Christian Barmore

Christian Barmore had great plans for his second year with the New England Patriots, but his knee injury forced him to miss half of the 2022 NFL season. He was supposed to miss just two games, but the Patriots placed him on injured reserve.

Head coach Bill Belichick talked about Barmore’s potential return to the field and this was the update everyone was waiting for.

“We won’t make any decision until it’s time to make that decision, but Christian is making good progress,” Belichick said. “We’ll evaluate it. We do daily. We see him daily and he’s working hard, making progress. But we’ll see exactly where he is and what he’ll be ready to do and when he’ll be ready to do it. So we’ll talk to the medical and training staff and strength staff: the people that have been working most closely with him, trying to get him ready for that.”

Patriots are careful with Christian Barmore and his injury

The Patriots won’t rush Barmore into game action. They will evaluate his health condition and determine whether he could join his teammates.

“The time frame that the league allows is obviously relevant because we can’t exceed that or we can’t go in front of that,” Belichick added. “But ultimately it comes down to what the player’s physical status is and what he can do. So, that determination will be made by the people that are working with him on that rehab. We’ll see how it goes here at the end of the week.”

Losing Barmore to an injury was a big blow for the Patriots, but they managed to build strong defensive scheme with Deatrich Wise, Josh Uche, and Matthew Judon.

Judon would love to have his teammate back, but he credits players who give their best to replace him. He admits that the Patriots have “some really good players out there,” referring to Uche and Anfernee Jennings. Barmore would fit really well in the defense, giving the Patriots a healthy boost in this part of the game.

New England has enough time to repair the damage and make the big game.
