Johnson helped Jeanie Buss sign LeBron on the first day of his free agency. He was Director of Basketball Operations back then. According to LeBron, Johnson had a huge impact on the Lakers. Passing him on the all-time list was a big deal and LeBron didn’t even try to hide his excitement.

“It’s even more of a humbling feeling when you’re actually wearing the same uniform that a guy wore,” LeBron said following the win over the Bucks. “You know, Magic has been everything to this franchise from the moment he was drafted, and it’s an honor for me to try and carry on his legacy while I play this game.”

LeBron averages 25.9 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game. He shoots 33.3% from deep and 53.5% from the two-point line. He is having another great season and the Lakers are expected to make the playoffs this time. The franchise was eliminated of the playoff race last season. Hopefully, players will take a different route this season. They have to finish the 2022-23 NBA season with a win.
