Patriots Insider Explains Why Bill Belichick Job May Be In Jeopardy

The New England Patriots trusted Bill Belichick for many years and now we have people saying that his job is in jeopardy. Karen Guregian from The Boston Herald discussed Belichick’s situation with the team following the terrible loss to the Buffalo Bills. According to Guregian, Belichick may be looking for a new job sooner than expected.

“He’s not pleased, and hasn’t been happy with how the offense has performed all season, but most notably how [quarterback Mac] Jones has regressed from his rookie season,” Guregian wrote. “That’s been reported in recent weeks, and also confirmed by Herald sources. The question now is what comes about as a result of that displeasure.

“Is Belichick safe? The feeling here is yes, as long as he’s willing to make the necessary changes to fix what’s broke. If Belichick isn’t willing to bring in competent offensive coaches for Jones, and not move on from Patricia and Judge, it might come down to a who-blinks-first contest. The guess here is it won’t be Kraft.”

Robert Kraft has yet to say that Bill Belichick may be in jeopardy

Team owner Robert Kraft is not happy with the final result of the season. He had high expectations from the team, but players failed to deliver. Kraft couldn’t hide his frustration early in the season and it seems like things haven’t changed a bit.

“I’m a Patriot fan, big time, first. More than anything, it bothers me that we haven’t been able to win a playoff game in the last three years,” Kraft said at the 2022 NFL annual meeting in March. “After my family, there’s nothing more important to me than the New England Patriots and winning football games. That’s my passion, so whatever I can do — hopefully in a small way to make that happen — I’m there. I’m not happy that we haven’t won a playoff game in three years. I think about that a lot.”

The Patriots had a chance to make a change this season, but the loss to the Buffalo Bills put an end to their hopes. Players aren’t happy with the final result as well, but this failure should be a strong motivation for them all.
