Lakers’ Jeanie Buss Explains LeBron James Frustration: ‘The Burden’s on Him’

The Los Angeles Lakers have yet to become the most threatening team in the NBA. Players faced a huge challenge entering the 2022-23 NBA season, but they were pretty positive about their motivation. Well, things didn’t go the way everyone planned. Team owner Jeanie Buss discussed players’ frustration and yes, she did admit that LeBron James carries the burden on his back.

Buss got LeBron for a reason and she knows that he embraced a huge challenge at the very first moment he joined the franchise. Things got a little rough lately, but LeBron can handle it all. He is the ultimate leader and leaders have to do their job. King James came to LA to win games and he won’t retire without a few more rings in his pocket.

“I mean, unless he’s winning, he’s not going to be happy. That’s him. That’s what drives him,” Buss told Stephen A. Smith on K[no]w Mercy. “And I could see why he would be frustrated. We’re all frustrated with, you know, we’re down four starters, and he’s our only remaining starter, and he’s gotta show up and play. And, the burden’s on him.”

Buss and LeBron have to do something about this frustration

The four-time NBA champion became a leader early in his career. It was a path he chose for himself and he developed insane skills, offering monster performance each and every night. LeBron is 38 and his game is impeccable. Well, the Lakers need more than that. LeBron’s MVP performance is not enough. The competition is strong and the Lakers have to try harder than before, otherwise they will miss the playoffs again. LeBron won’t be happy with that. He is a winner and being part of an average team is definitely not acceptable.

The Lakers have to address their situation and change their winning formula. It won’t be easy, but they have to do it. LeBron wouldn’t be happy if his team is pushed out of the playoff race once again. Not at all. It may be a challenging season, but LeBron loves challenges.
