Lakers Get Season-Changing Anthony Davis Injury Update

The Los Angeles Lakers play without LeBron James and the most recent Anthony Davis injury update isn’t too bright either. Will Rob Pelinka, Darvin Ham, and the rest of the crew manage to lead the team to the playoffs this season?

AD deals with right foot injury and doctors haven’t noticed any major improvement. Dave McMenamin from ESPN reported that Davis’ foot “did not show significant healing.”

“Davis was reevaluated by Lakers medical personnel about two weeks ago after sitting out the second night of a back-to-back against the Oklahoma City Thunder,” McMenamin wrote on March 14. “His right foot, which caused him to miss 20 games earlier in the season because of a stress reaction and a bone spur that fractured off the navicular bone, did not show significant healing, sources told ESPN. The doctors stuck to the same recommendation not to put Davis at risk of a setback from overexposure by participating in back-to-back games.”

Davis expressed his frustration following the bad loss to the New York Knicks, but he was able to take the Lakers to a win over the New Orleans Pelicans. AD is a true leader and the Lakers need him more than ever.

Lakers will rest Davis after the latest injury update

The big man didn’t suit up for the game against the Houston Rockets. Ham made a decision and Davis sat out the game.

“He’s not going to play,” Ham said after the Pelicans game. “Even though he’s been playing pain-free, we made an organizational decision, starting with our team doctors, to hold him out of back-to-backs.”

AD missed an important game and his teammates will have to find a way to beat them without the big man on the floor. It will be hard, but we wouldn’t write them off at this point. The Lakers accomplished a lot this season.

“I mean it’s tough,” Davis said. “Especially (the) position we’re in. Obviously, you wanna go out and play, but before I even came back, it’s something the doctors and the organization discussed that they thought it would be best for me not to play back-to-backs because the foot, even though I’m not feeling pain and everything, it’s still an active injury with the stress reaction and everything and we’re doing all the right things to make sure that I’m ready to go.”

The Lakers have a big plan and hopefully, they will win more games in the final stretch of the season.
