Patriots Reportedly Focusing On Two Positions With No. 14 Pick

The New England Patriots have to fill a few holes on their roster and they will use their No.14 pick of the 2023 NFL Draft to solve at least one issue. Head coach Bill Belichick needs players at several positions. According to Phil Perry, the Patriots will focus on two specific positions. There are several options. Belichick can keep or trade this pick.

“Having conversations with people around the league of late, the buzz seems to be that we should be focused in on the cornerback position and the receiver spot when it comes to the Patriots,” Perry said. “And you may be sitting there saying, ‘Well, those are the spots we’ve already been focused on.’ Well, there’s a position that I’m leaving out for now, and I’ll just say that — for now.

“And it’s the tackle spot. And the reason I say that, just a few of the notes that have made their way to me … I’m not sure it’s the strongest tackle class. And, by the time the Patriots are on the board at 14, who will be available?”

The Patriots could really use a wide receiver and a cornerback. Belichick will probably miss the top offensive tackle by the time he gets to pick his player. He will probably focus on a top receiver or cornerback. Belichick always goes after the best of the best.

Patriots to get top player with the No.14 pick

Who is the first option for the legendary head coach?

Quentin Johnson is listed as a top receiver. The same goes to Jaxon Smith-Njogba and Jordan Addison. Analysts predict Zay Flowers to be a first-round selection, too.

The cornerback group offers great players. Devon Witherspoon, Christian Gonzales, and Joey Porter Jr. will find their new homes in the first round of the draft. Emmanuel Forbes and Deonte Banks could be selected in this group. It’s interesting to note that the Patriots contacted Gonzales, Porter, and Forbes in the pre-draft stage.

Belichick has a few weeks to adjust his draft strategy. There’s no room for mistakes this time. The Patriots need top prospects.
