Magic Johnson Calls Out Lakers With Bold 17-Word Tweet

The Los Angeles Lakers lost Game 2 of the series against the Memphis Grizzlies. Magic Johnson wasn’t happy with their performance and calls out Lakers players for the “soft” performance.

The Lakers legend took to Twitter to express his disappointment for the Lakers.

“The Laker players were soft, soft, and SOFT in Game 2! That cannot be the case in Game 3!” Johnson tweeted.

LeBron James and his teammates won the first game of the series, but couldn’t beat their opponent in Game 2. It’s interesting to note that the Grizzlies were without Ja Morant. This was supposed to make things easier for the purple and gold, but it didn’t happen.

Johnson delivered similar message right after the loss.

“The Lakers have no one to blame but themselves,” Johnson tweeted on April 19. “They didn’t come ready to play, that’s why they lost 101-93 to an undermanned Memphis team.”

Magic Johnson calls out Lakers, motivates them to win

The Lakers have a big advantage in the next two games. They will play at Crypto.com Arena and the Grizzlies could be without Morant again.

Morant is a key player for the Grizzlies, but they have found a way to win without him. Memphis plays good basketball this season and Lakers players know it really well.

Lakers players have to improve their game in several aspects. Anthony Davis didn’t have his best night and Memphis blocked him.

“Obviously, I can be better,” Davis said following the Game 2. “Can’t have a night like I had tonight and expect us to win. “I like all the shots I took. I just missed them. A lot of shots close to the rim I normally make, go in. Flush it and get ready for [Saturday].”

AD averages 17.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 6.0 blocks while going 45.2% from the field against Memphis. Davis averaged 25.9 points in the regular season. In other words, he has to get back to his old self. Let’s see what happens in Game 3 of the series.
