Ex-Patriots Pro Bowler J.C. Jackson Sends Warning To Former Team

Former Patriots players seem to be really excited about the new schedule. J.C. Jackson is one of them and the former Patriots cornerback even issued a warning to his former team. He will get to play against Bill Belichick and his former teammates and yes, he is ready for a revenge.

“It’s a revenge game for me,” the cornerback said on NFL Network’s “NFL Total Access Live” amid the 2023 schedule release. “I’m excited to go back and pick [Patriots quarterback] Mac Jones off and show them why they should’ve never let me go.”

Jackson made expected warning for the Patriots

Jackson seems to be a bit bitter about his situation with the Patriots. He spent four seasons with the Patriots and had great success as their cornerback. Jackson even helped the team win a Super Bowl in 2017. He also earned a Pro Bowl plus second-team All-Pro honors in 2021. Unfortunately, the Patriots let him go in 2022.

The veteran cornerback thought he’d get a big deal with the Patriots. He was efficient on the field and fans liked him. Well, Belichick never made an offer and Jackson left the team in free agency. He made a few comments about his situation with the team throughout the 2022 season, but nothing changed. Belichick didn’t mind watching him sign a deal with another team.

Jackson will return to New England on December 3. The Chargers will arrive at Gillette Stadium in Week 13. Jackson has probably saved the date.

There’s one obstacle though. Jackson suffered a knee injury in Week 7 in 2022. The Chargers will give him plenty of time to recover and get ready for the season. We don’t really know if they are willing to start him in Week 1.

When it comes to the Patriots, they will have to pick the best starting quarterback for the season. Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe will compete for the job and Belichick can always add a third option. It will be a long offseason full of surprises.
