Lakers Superstar LeBron James Hints At Retirement Decision In New Cryptic Post

LeBron James entered the offseason a little early this season which gives him enough time to make some future plans or maybe even announce his retirement. The four-time NBA champion has been making headlines from the moment he jumped on the SI cover. However, things got really messy after the Western Conference Finals. LeBron and the Los Angeles Lakers were smashed by the Denver Nuggets and fans started talking about his next step. Will he call it career this summer?

His cryptic message could be really telling at this point. LeBron reposted the following Instagram message and triggered an avalanche on social media.

“Definition of ‘HIM’ right here,” the fan account read. “Blessed to have been able to witness this career from the very beginning. Through all the hate, scrutiny and ridiculous expectations, Bron continues to rise. Let’s appreciate him while he’s still here. More greatness on the way…”

There’s more. LeBron added a few extra words to spice things up.

“I’m suppose to be No. 1 on everybody list,” LeBron wrote. “We’ll see what happens when I no longer exists.”

LeBron has a few great years left in his tank and he could easily win a couple of rings. Yes, he missed another chance to celebrate a championship win, but he is definitely motivated to lead his team in the upcoming season.

NBA analysts discuss LeBron and his potential retirement

LeBron has been playing his best game for over 20 NBA seasons. He has four rings and a lot of records in his resume. He is 38, but age has nothing on him. LeBron averaged 24.5 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists this postseason. He didn’t skip a beat against the Nuggets, meaning he can do this all over again.

Fun fact? NBA execs would agree with us on this one.

“He’ll suit up next year,” one Western Conference executive told Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report. “He just changed the conversation. Now we’re not talking about a sweep; we’re talking about LeBron and retirement. He loves to control the narrative.”

Charles Barkley shares the same opinion. He doesn’t believe that the king of basketball will put an end to his career.

“I was disappointed in LeBron. He had to know that these fools on TV were gonna talk about it all the time. I got so frustrated the other day watching television. The first two stories were LeBron retiring, not about how great the Denver Nuggets played. How great [Nikola Jokic] is,” Barkey said on the Pat McAfee show. “And hell no, LeBron isn’t gonna retire.”
