LeBron James Reacts To Death Of LA Lakers Legend Jerry West

Los Angeles Lakers legend Jerry West died at the age of 86 and the NBA world mourned his death. Former and current basketball players paid tribute to legendary West and delivered emotional messages. Lakers superstar LeBron James posted an emotional message on X.

“Will truly miss our convos my dear friend! My thoughts and prayers goes out to your wonderful family! Forever love Jerry! Rest in Paradise my guy!” the four-time NBA champion wrote.

West was one of the greatest fans LeBron has ever had. He always talked about his greatness and even said that LeBron was one of the greatest players in league history. Just like LeBron, West was able to recognize talented players and King James sure grabbed his attention.

“LeBron James, in his own right, you could put him adjacent to him and everyone thought ‘Well, look how many rings Michael won’. I think that’s the craziest way to try to compare a player that you can possibly have,” West said on a 2017 episode of “The Dan Patrick Show.”

West had brilliant career with Lakers, Clippers

West was executive board member and consultant with the Lakers city rivals since 2017. He was one of the greatest basketball names in history and will be remembered as a true legend.

When it comes to the Lakers, West made a lot of great stories as their general manager. He was the GM of the “Showtime Lakers” dynasty and celebrated six great titles with the team. He also had two title celebrations with the Golden State Warriors. West was really successful as a general manager and won the Executive of the Year Award in 1995 and 2004.

Older generations remember the success West had on the basketball court. The 14-time All-Star earned a spot in the Hall of Fame and also made the NBA’s 75th Anniversary team. Yes, the NBA logo has his iconic silhouette.
