Julian Edelman and His Attorney Have a Plan To Go Against NFL For His Suspension
Julian Edelman was set aside from the big game, and his four-game suspension will be heard in details. Edelman will have to give his best in order to defend his interests, and prove others wrong. Well, at least that’s what he hopes for. Reports confirm that Edelman will mount a vigorous defense that could even question the National Football League’s handling of his suspension.
According to ESPN, the New England Patriots receiver faces a four-game suspension because he violated the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy. Edelman better think twice before making his next step.
The MMQB reported that he tested positive for a substance that wasn’t even on the NFL’s drug test. This is actually one of the two key topics in the heart of his appeal.
Sources also note that the receiver will try to prove that the NFL mishandled the documentation and the delivery of his test results.
The investigation showed that the NFL made crucial mistakes in the way it handled the results of the test. Edelman believes that the mishandling of the evidence is one of the reasons he should actually be exonerated.
The 32-year-old receiver is a regular participant in the offseason program, minicamp and organized activities. He missed the previous season after tearing his ACL during the preseason.
Edelman also enlisted an outside counsel, Alex Spiro. The New York-based attorney gained fame in the recent years because he represented numerous NBA players in their legal entanglements.
The receiver could really pursue an appeal of his case in the federal court if the arbitration doesn’t go the way he plans. The addition of Spiro sure means a lot, and Edelman will probably find a way to get himself out of the trouble. He better stay out of trouble next time, because he may not have enough luck. People are looking forward to see him gaining success.
