Report: LeBron Reached Out To Durant About Teaming Up

The NBA offseason has started to heat up, and things are getting interesting as the free agency period approaches. Everything will change on July 1, and many teams will raise their hopes and dreams. Do you know that the big LeBron James actually texted Kevin Durant about the possible teaming up?

So, the two superstars could weigh the prospect of gaming together with the Los Angeles Lakers. Thursday’s episode of First Take on ESPN was super interesting, as Stephen A. Smith was talking about this topic. He reported that LeBron and Kevin could head together in Los Angeles.

“LeBron James reached out to Kevin Durant via text from what I’m told about coming to Los Angeles. I don’t know what Kevin Durant’s response to him was. That is not the information I got, but I will tell you what I did hear. Behind the scenes, Kevin Durant was like ‘why would I do that? As far I’m concerned, LeBron James is a big-time player, but the way I look at it, I should be perceived as the best player,’” Smith said.

There’s a huge possibility that James and Durant become free agents on July 1. Fans believe that they will opt out of their contracts with the Cavaliers and Warriors. Marc Stein from The New York Times said that Durant told the Warriors about his plan to opt out of his contract. He also informed the organization that he will re-sign with the team to earn a 4-year contract worth $158. The star and the Warriors will make a deal “in the early stages,” as confirmed by Stein.

LeBron on the other hand will make a decision until Friday.

If Kawhi Leonard lands in LA, the team will become a nice destination for James, Durant and other desirable players.

Let’s see the further development of events in the NBA.
