It’s more than clear that J.R. Smith doesn’t really know what happens around him. Both the Knicks and the Cavaliers will confirm this. Smith didn’t even know the score late in Game one of the NBA Finals. Can you believe that? Well, everything points to the fact that he’s not aware of the fact that LeBron left Cleveland.
LeBron James first announced his decision to join the Los Angeles Lakers three weeks ago. J.R. Smith finally found the time to say goodbye to the NBA star. He even posted a photo of him and Tristan Thompson pulling King James up from the court. “Thanks bro @kingjames,” the caption read.
The Instagram post fueled the fire, and fans wrote comments with the speed of the light.
James couldn’t do anything but comment: “My G! #FamilyTies” There were also this praying hands emoji and the 100 percent emoji.
So, does this mean there are no hard feelings between LeBron and Smith? Isn’t the king mad about Smith’s absentmindedness which led to the Cavs losing Game one of the Finals?
Smith is part of the Cavs family for four seasons, and he couldn’t shoot after rebounding the missed free throw by George Hill. The shooting guard just dribbled the ball, and the rest is history. He will always remember those 4.7 seconds.
However, Smith is one of the reasons Cavs brought home their very first NBA championship in 2016. LeBron wanted him back as a free agent, and even told the management to seal the deal.
“Negotiations are always two sides, but J.R. did his part. He showed up every day. Worked his ass off every day. Became a two-way player, a model citizen in Cleveland and he’s a fan favorite, obviously we all know that. … We just miss him. We miss having him around. He’s a big piece of our team and they just need to get it done,” LeBron said at the time.
Well, I guess everything is fine now.
