The Great Julius Erving Opens Up About LeBron James and his Lakers Contract

LeBron James reached the NBA Finals for eight seasons in a row, and decided to make a bold change. He switched teams, and signed a four-year contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. His decision was followed by an avalanche of reactions, and Julius Erving also talked on the matter.

LeBron surprised everyone with his decision to play in the Western Conference. This was a rather big move, especially if you take into consideration the fact that fans thought he would play with the Cleveland Cavaliers for a year. But, the king of basketball gambled. We haven’t seen the Lakers in the NBA Finals for quite some time, and LeBron James will sure change that. What does Julius Erving think about this?

“I have a great admiration for a guy who dominated the Eastern Conference as he has and then goes out to take up the challenge of playing in the Western Conference. That’s chutzpah,” Erving said.

We all know that LeBron will finish his career wearing a Lakers uniform. He’s 34, and yes, there’s no time for other changes. “This is kind of like a dream come true for me… Being able to partner with Magic Johnson, someone I kind of like looked up to when I was younger, you know, and wanted to make no-look passes like Magic, wanted to get on the break and be ‘Showtime’ like Magic, and then for it to all come to fruition at this point, I think timing is everything,” LeBron said of his new contract.

Although he made a risky move, we can’t be happier for him. LeBron will rock the basketball courts in Los Angeles, and he will sure help the Lakers win an award. We can see him do that. King James arrived to Los Angeles for a reason, and we can’t wait for the new season to start.
